Hello Ladies, If you're a man you might want to click on the 19th hole and check out the beverages or perhaps look for the super duper deals.  So Ladies it's time to take over the old boys network!  We're learning to golf and make deals on the golf course.

At Northville Hills there will be a 4 week mini league with a twist. ~ 20 regular golfers meet each week with an extra foursome being invited by the regulars.  You get to invite someone you think can do business with one of our golfers or with yourself.  You get the credit for the invite but there's no cost to you or the invited golfer.  Tee times will start at 2 with networking and dinner to follow. Contact Mary at Northville Hills to sign up or visit WomenMakingConnections.com to register.

NEW GROOVE RULES

The United States Golf Association will adopt the new groove rules as a condition of competition for the 2010 U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Senior Open starting with the sectional (second stage) qualifying events for each of the three championships.  The condition of competition regarding grooves will not be in effect at local (first stage) qualifying events for the 2010 U.S. Open Championship.

The USGA will adopt the condition of competition for U.S. Open local qualifying beginning in 2011 and for the national championships and team competitions it conducts for amateur players no later than 2014, as originally indicated.  This rule will apply to any golf club with a loft greater than 24 degrees.

If you don't play in those specific events, you are good to go until at least 2024.  All existing clubs that presently conform to the rules will continue to be deemed conforming through at least 2024, when the condition of competition is expected to become a permanent equipment specification.  So don't panic, you can still play with your clubs for many years to come.  Even if you happen to have a Ping Eye2 wedge like Phil Michelson, play away!
